    Bored Eating

    I’m so bored right now! We are in our 6-9 pm e-commerce class and I am sitting here right now and have actually run out of things to do on the internet. If that’s even possible. Being bored really makes me think of all the things that I would like to eat right now. Jillian always says on the show that in order to keep the weight off once you lose it, you have to get to the bottom of why you gained it in the first place. I’ve been trying to think about that a lot lately. I think that I may have something here with my boredom eating, but I think that there is something deeper as well. I’m sure we’ll chat about this again, but I just wanted to type this right now so that I could try to distract myself from thinking about eating while I sit here bored for another hour and 10 minutes. I don’t think it worked.

    Too Fat Chicks.........Synthia here. I agree with Jim and Christi.....writing it down, brings the real issue to light! Before this challenge, I never wrote anything down, except for to do lists.  Reading other blogs and those being so close to my challenges, helps me understand my struggles with weight and the like. Going back through your writings can open that area you are struggling with, and you will find your answer. Anyway....Good Luck. You will successed. "Its a Good Life" Synthia

    I had an evening Fed Tax class once a week that about killed me- I know that without wireless internet I would have died! You can get through it! :)  Boredom eating is one of my problems too- I still haven't solved it.  The best thing I can come up with is always having 100 calorie popcorn packs around that I can microwave anytime.

    I have mixed feelings about it.  I think we should try to understand how being fat has served us, what we get out of it.  At the same time I don't think it's the be all end all secret solution that some people make it out to be.  We have to change our habits, for life.  Along the way we'll figure some things out but maybe not all of them.  Anyway, I'm rambling now.  It's late :)  Thanks for sharing though, I'm very focused on maintenance myself as I've gained the weight back a few times, and I think I know exactly why I gained it in the first place and that knowledge didn't save me so you see my point.  Ok, rambling again :)  ~Michelle

    It may not have taken your mind off eating - but it did succeed in putting it out there, writing it down so you are more aware of it than before.  Congrats on getting to know yourself a little bit more!
